Aston Villa manager Martin O'Neill has confirmed that several Championship clubs, including QPR, have expressed an interest in signing Lee Hendrie on loan.
Crystal Palace and at least one unnamed Midlands club have also been linked with the 29-year-old who has grown frustrated with his lack of first-team opportunities at Villa Park.
"There are a number of teams who are looking to take him on loan and I wouldn't want to betray confidences by naming them. John Gregory has enquired about him," O'Neill told Villa's official website.
"He played for the reserves last night we'll see how fit he is because it's all about games with him.
"If he wants to give himself a chance of getting into the first team then he'll want to get himself as fit as possible.
"I wasn't the one who instigated the possibility of him going out on loan, it seemed as if his agent wanted that, but even so I'm not in disagreement with him because he can go, wherever that may be, and get games.
"We'll know more later today. Crystal Palace have maintained an interest and everybody is just waiting until he gets fit, and then hopefully he'll be able to prove a point."
