Championship promotion hopefuls Crystal Palace have approached Aston Villa about taking out of favour midfielder Lee Hendrie on loan.
The 29-year-old, who has been struggling with a calf injury in recent weeks, has admitted that he might need to leave Villa Park to secure regular first-team football and the Eagles are keen to bolster their squad.
Villa boss Martin O'Neill told the club's official website: "Crystal Palace have approached us about Lee.
"They want him for a couple of months, though the good news is we could recall him after the first month.
"So that's something that could happen. First of all, he's recovering from an injury and it's also his testimonial year, so those are considerations.
"But, if there are a couple of players in front of him who have done okay and the chance to go out on loan comes up, I won't stand in his way.
"I'm always of a mind to do that if it suits everyone.
"But I would be reluctant to let too many out on loan at once, because a few injuries later, you can find yourself in trouble."
