Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill has revealed he is open to the idea of sending out some fringe members of his squad on loan when the Football League window opens at the weekend.
O'Neill has several promising members of his squad knocking at the first-team door and will consider approaches from lower division clubs as he looks to continue their football education.
Young defender Stephen O'Halloran has already been mentioned as a possible loan target for Championship side Ipswich Town.
"I explore any possibility of things that can suit the player and perhaps the club," he told the club's official website.
"The minute we sign any player, we get inundated with calls from clubs wanting to loan this and that player. It's as if they're waiting for us to make signings before making a move.
"I'll review the situation and see what might suit both the club and the players."
Meanwhile, O'Neill has welcomed the potential selection headache of having three goalkeepers vying for the one starting spot in the coming weeks.
Last season's number one Thomas Sorensen has now returned to full fitness following a pre-season hamstring problem and will challenge on-loan Liverpool keeper Scott Carson and understudy Stuart Taylor when the Premier League resumes next weekend.
"It's a luxury at this minute that I hope I can afford in terms of having three really decent keepers in position," he continued.
"At the moment Scott Carson is doing really well but the competition for places is something that this time last year I would have said didn't really exist.
"Thomas is fit now and he's gone off with Denmark and that will give him a big boost. Stuart Taylor did absolutely nothing wrong against Liverpool and Wrexham.
"It's great to have competition, but let's face it, you can have a big or a small squad, but it just depends on injuries."
