O'Neill calm over signings

Martin O'Neill has reassured Aston Villa fans concerned at a lack of new signings that he is close to concluding deals to bolster his squad.
O'Neill has sanctioned the sales of defensive duo Jlloyd Samuel and Aaron Hughes plus midfielder Gavin McCann already this summer, but has so far failed to land any of his transfer targets.
However, the Villa chief remains positive that he will be able to invest some of chairman Randy Lerner's cash on new players, amid continued speculation linking West Ham midfielder Nigel Reo-Coker and West Brom's Jason Koumas with the Midlands club.
"We are looking to strengthen the squad in the next month and we want to be in a position where we can challenge," he told the club's official website.
"But I don't want to talk about who those players are going to be at this stage, because there's been a lot of speculation and we seem to have been linked with almost everybody.
"But the supporters can rest assured we will be strengthening the squad and we will let them know as soon as there is anything to report."
