Aston Villa manager Martin O'Neill has admitted that in an ideal world he would love to have a top-class striker among his options at Villa Park.
Norway international John Carew leads the way in the Premier League with ten goals for O'Neill's side this season and the Irishman would like to increase his striking options over the summer.
O'Neill said: "Generally speaking we have shared the goals around a bit.
"Now, wouldn't it be phenomenal having somebody stand out, somebody scoring 20-odd league goals a season, especially this year where people like Fernando Torres and Ronaldo have scored a lot of goals.
"Deep down I think that the better statistic to look at is the number of goals we have scored. We are up there with the Arsenals and Liverpools.
"If you are scoring, I don't think you tend to worry too much about it.
"If you aren't, then of course you are on the lookout for somebody who can break the 20-goal mark.
"I think that all top-quality sides have a goalscoring midfield player and a centre-forward who is getting over 20-a-season in the league."
