O'Neill ends Larsson talk

Aston Villa manager Martin O'Neill has ruled out a January move to try and tempt former Celtic legend Henrik Larsson to move to Villa Park. The 35-year-old is back in Sweden with Helsingborg after a two-year stint with Barcelona and O'Neill says he has no plans to try and persuade his former Bhoys charge to return to Britain. O'Neill decided to comment on new rumours, after the pair sat on the same table at an awards dinner in Scotland at the weekend. He said: "This story always seems to grow arms and legs, but there is nothing in it. "Larsson has made it abundantly clear that he wants to remain in Sweden with his family, that is what he made his mind up to do. And I would respect that and I wouldn't even bother him. "While I was on the same table as him on Sunday night, people see you sitting together and think he is arriving. "That is not the case and it won't be happening."
