Aston Villa striker John Carew may have to prepare himself for a spell on the sidelines after limping out of Sunday's 2-0 victory against Everton with a knee injury.
The Norway international had opened the scoring against David Moyes' side before twisting his knee and being substituted.
A concerned Villa boss Martin O'Neill told the club's official website: "You can do an awful lot of work as a centre-forward outside the penalty area, but you're there to get goals and he's off the mark now.
"Suddenly all that good work he has done for us, that seemingly has gone unnoticed, he'll start to think now that there is a bit of justice.
"He did very well today and he put us on our way, but he is injured. I don't know how serious it is at the moment and the doctor's a bit concerned."
The 28-year-old former Valencia and Lyon forward has found the net four times in 17 appearances for Villa side joining the club in January.
