Moore predicts bright future

Striker Luke Moore believes the future is bright for Aston Villa following Martin O'Neill's investment in youth during the transfer window.

O'Neill splashed the cash in January and brought John Carew, Ashley Young and Shaun Maloney to Villa Park in deals which topped the £10million mark.

Moore, who has been sidelined with a shoulder injury since September, has watched on as O'Neill has added a number of young players to squad and the former Villa academy graduate has been impressed with the new arrivals.

"It's great what's happening here," he said. "I'm impressed with what's going on and it's a definite sign to the fans of the kind of players we want to bring in.

"I was really pleased to see the signings made by the manager in January.

"In the past we would have bought someone who was in their 30s, so it shows a lot of intent that younger players are coming in."
