Moore boost for Villa
09 Jan 2007 - 10:28:45
Aston Villa have been handed a huge injury boost by the news that Luke Moore could be fit to return to action before the end of January.
The 20-year-old striker has been sidelined with a serious shoulder injury since September.
Early indications suggested Moore could be sidelined for the majority of the season, but after undergoing surgery in America, the speedy frontman has set his sights on a first-team return.
"My shoulder feels good and I'm ahead of schedule. Hopefully I'll be back earlier than people thought. I haven't got a date but I am looking at some time this month," he revealed.
"It's been frustrating not to be playing. It was depressing when I got injured and realised I would be out for a long time.
"But that's the way football is sometimes and you have to accept that things sometimes go wrong.
"But I'm doing running and a lot of hard work in the gym to get things right. I'm getting there. I'm now more interested in what lies ahead. The sooner I can play again, the better."
