Marshall joins up with Villa

Aston Villa have bolstered their goalkeeping options with the capture of Andy Marshall on a one-year-deal.

Marshall, 34, has joined the Midlands club on a free transfer following his release by Coventry City at the end of last season.

The experienced shot-stopper will provide cover for regular number one Brad Friedel and understudy Brad Guzan during the coming season.

Former number three keeper Stuart Taylor left Villa Park to join Manchester City earlier in the summer.

Marshall, who has been capped at under-21 level by England, has spent time with Norwich City, Ipswich Town, Millwall and the Sky Blues during a lengthy career.
