Defender Martin Laursen is set for a fresh round of contract talks aimed at resolving his Aston Villa future.
The 30-year-old Denmark international has been in inspirational form this season and scored the winner in the 2-1 New Year's Day victory over Tottenham.
Laursen's three-year stint at Villa Park has been blighted by a succession of series knee injuries, but following his return to fitness manager Martin O'Neill is keen to keep him at the club.
The former AC Milan defender is out of contract in the summer but will hold talks on a new deal after this weekend's FA Cup third round meeting with Manchester United.
"I think both parties have talked," he said, referring to the club and his agent.
"I have just concentrated on playing football and I think the manager has as well. It has been a hard period.
"When we have got the Manchester United game out of the way, then we will meet up again.
"I told my agent to take care of everything. I trust him - I just want to concentrate on my football."
