Defender Zat Knight still believes Aston Villa can qualify for the Champions League despite slipping behind
Liverpool and
Everton in the race for fourth place.
Villa picked up a creditable point following last weekend's draw with Arsenal but, with both Merseyside clubs securing victories, Martin O'Neill's side are now five points adrift of fourth spot.
However, Knight believes Champions League qualification is still within their grasp with ten games still to go in the season.
"We haven't got a game this weekend and hopefully we can rest up for the final push. Then we need to get the points against Middlesbrough, Portsmouth and Sunderland," he told the club's official website.
"If we can get those points then we can go to Old trafford with confidence high. That's our hardest remaining game. If we can go there and get something, we'll still be in the hunt.
"To do so well and be so unlucky not to get all three points at Arsenal makes our confidence sky-high. It shows us we can do it against the very best. We did it for 92 minutes and 55 seconds.
"If we can apply the same attitude over the last ten games, I can't see why we can't claim that fourth spot."
