    Kiraly completes Villa move

    15 Dec 2006 - 07:33:43

Aston Villa have bolstered their goalkeeping options by signing Crystal Palace's Gabor Kiraly in an emergency loan deal.

Villa were given special dispensation by the Premier League to sign a keeper after regular custodians Thomas Sorensen and Stuart Taylor picked up injuries.

Taylor - who was standing in for the injured Sorensen - picked up a knee injury in Monday's draw with Sheffield United and is expected to be out for around a month after going under the surgeon's knife.

That left only rookie Robert Olejnik, 20, as Villa's only fit keeper ahead of Saturday's clash with Bolton.

Kiraly had only just returned to Palace after completing a similar emergency loan move to West Ham.

Taylor, who had waited 18 months for a first-team start before the injury to Sorensen, was disappointed that his opportunity had been ended prematurely.

"I am absolutely gutted, there is no other word for it," he told the club's official website.

"I can't believe this has happened just as I was getting a run in the team.

"Thomas' injury meant I was getting a chance to prove myself for the first time - but it was obviously not meant to be.

"There is nothing I can do about it though. I just have to focus on getting back to full fitness then I can push Thomas for the shirt again."
