Aston Villa goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen has revealed that the hamstring injury he suffered in a pre-season friendly is not as serious as was first feared.
The 31-year-old Denmark international lasted just 35 minutes of the clash with Canadian side FC Toronto, amid fears that he could be sidelined for a lengthy spell.
However, Sorensen told the club's official website: "The news is a lot better than I thought it would be. When I did the injury, I really thought it might be something serious.
"But we've had a look at it and it's just a slight strain, so I shouldn't be out of action for too long.
"It's too soon to say what the timescale might be yet, but the good news is this is not a serious injury."
