Injury blights Taylor contract talks

Thursday Sep 29 2005 13:46

Long-serving Aston Villa midfielder Ian Taylor wants his future sorted out at Villa Park.

Taylor, in his ninth season at the club he supported as a boy, was about to sit down and discuss his future with manager Graham Taylor before the player picked up a thigh muscle injury last week.

Taylor said: "I've got no idea whether the manager wants to keep me on or let me go. It would be nice to know one way or the other just to get things clear in my mind.

"I was going to see him about it last week when I was still fit. The timing of this latest injury couldn't have been worse.

"If I am not going to be here next season, it will be nice to know in terms of trying to map out the future."
