Teddy Sheringham (West Ham) 40 years and 268 days - 2006Teddy Sheringham made Premier League history when he scored a late consolation for West Ham in a 2-1 defeat by his former side Portsmouth on Boxing Day 2006. Six months later the former England striker moved to Championship side Colchester, where he scored his final career goal in January 2008 in a 3-1 FA Cup third round defeat to Peterborough aged 41.
Stuart Pearce (West Ham) 38 years and 215 days - 2000Former England defender scored the second goal as West Ham defeated Southampton in a thrilling 3-2 victory at the Dell, which proved to be Pearce's final Premier League goal before dropping down to the Championship with Manchester City.
Mark Hughes (Blackburn Rovers) 38 years and 149 days - 2002Despite being player/manager of Wales, Hughes scored his final career goal for Blackburn in a 2-1 defeat to Leicester City. Two years after hanging up his boots, Hughes returned to Ewood Park as manager.
Kerimonglu Tugay (Blackburn Rovers) 38 years and 98 days - 2008Having spent eight seasons at Blackburn, fans favourite Tugay hung up his boots last summer. The Turkish midfielder's final goal for Rovers was a spectacular strike against Portsmouth in November 2008.
Graham Alexander (Burnley) 38 years and 67 days - 2009Ever-present for Burnley this season, Graham Alexander became the oldest player to make a Premier League debut. The spot kick king has scored five league goals this season with his latest in a 1-1 draw against Arsenal at Turf Moor.

Mick Harford (Wimbledon) 38 years and 34 days - 1997At his 11th club the well travelled striker scored his final Premier League goal for the Crazy Gang in a 1-1 draw against West Ham in 1997.
Gary Speed (Bolton) 37 351 Days - 2007Former Leeds, Newcastle, Everton and Bolton midfielder, who scored his final Premier League goal at the Reebok Stadium in a 3-0 victory against Reading in August 2007. Six months later Speed dropped down to the Championship to play for Sheffield United.

Peter Schmeichel (Aston Villa) 37 years and 336 days - 2001Most famous for his time at Manchester United, Schmeichel became the first goalkeeper to score a Premier League goal while playing for Aston Villa in a 3-2 defeat to Everton in October 2001.
Les Ferdinand (Bolton Wanderers) 37 years and 268 days - 2004Scoring his final Premier League goal in the 90th minute against Manchester United meaning a 2-2 draw for Bolton before leaving the Premiership to play for both Reading and Watford.
John Wark (Ipswich) 37 years and 177 days - 1995Scottish defender Wark scored the only goal for Ipswich in the 4-1 loss against Blackburn Rovers in January 1995, but did not hang up his boots until later in 1997.
