England Under-21 forward Gabriel Agbonlahor has signed an improved four-year contract to keep him at Aston Villa until the summer of 2012.
The 21-year-old has scored 23 goals in 94 appearances for Villa to date and is on the verge of breaking into the England senior team following a string of impressive displays at club level.
Meanwhile, striker John Carew has spoken of his delight at signing a new deal with Villa that now runs until the summer of 2011.
He told the club's official website: "I am very happy to make the contract a year longer. I'm really happy to be here and proud to be a part of Aston Villa.
"I wanted to stay longer and the club wanted me to sign the new deal, so it has worked out well. I'm satisfied and hopefully the club is satisfied.
"I love the club, I love the fans, the team is a great group of players and of course the manager is a great, great manager. So the future looks bright and I just want to be a part of it.
"I think we can just do better and better than the club has done in a long time. We have signed some good players lately and our goal is to do even better than last year."
