England World Cup squad: does Emile Heskey have a place in the fans' final 23?

Fans have been voting in big numbers using Telegraph Sport's England World Cup squad selector and one man - Wayne Rooney - was head and shoulders above his fellow strikers in terms of votes. But Heskey, his strike partner in qualification, is only rated fourth suggesting that he may have a minor struggle on his hands to make the final 23. Most selected strikers 1. Wayne Rooney 2. Jermain Defoe 3. Peter Crouch4. Emile Heskey 5. Darren Bent In favour Reputation - Heskey was a regular in qualification when England made the World Cup finals with the minimum of fuss. Why stray away from that?Enabler - Rooney has scored nine in nine under Capello playing almost exclusively with Heskey. The big man gets the best out of Rooney.Experience - Munich in 2001? Sapporo in 2002? Zagreb in 2008? All high-stakes England wins, all featured Heskey from the start. Up against itForm - the less said about this the better. In the Premier League this season Heskey scored just three goals at a rate of 433 minutes per goal and a paltry chance conversion rate of 12 per cent.Rooney - for Manchester United this season Rooney has lead the line on his own and scored 34 goals in 44 competitive matches. Surely Capello should set up a system to allow his star man to try and replicate this form?Game time - Heskey only played 1,298 minutes for Aston Villa this season. There's keeping fresh and then there's warming the bench. Ivanhoe did the latter. What do you think? Should Heskey go to the World Cup?
