Clarets aim to tie down star McCann

McCann was in inspirational form last season as the Clarets secured a place in the Premier League via the play-offs and a number of top-flight sides have been tracking the young midfielder's progress. But amid talk that Villa boss Martin O'Neill is readying a £4million bid for the 21-year-old, Burnley boss Owen Coyle has urged the Clarets to move quickly and secure McCann to a lucrative new deal. Coyle said of McCann, 21, and his young side: "I am excited about how they will do."
