Carew targets Villa retirement

Norwegian striker John Carew says he would be happy to finish his career with Aston Villa, having recently extended his contract until the summer of 2011.

The 29-year-old has scored 23 goals in 60 appearances for Villa since his arrival from Lyon in January 2007 and Carew is clearly enjoying his time at Villa Park.

He told the club's official website: "I'm very happy here. I'm proud to be part of the club because there's great ambition and I'm sure we have a great future.

"That's why I signed a new contract. I love the club, I love the fans and we have a great group of players.

"Football in this country suits me very well. It's a very quick game, which I really like. I think I've found the right football country.

"I would like to finish my career here. I'm not thinking of going anywhere else."
