Carew in no rush to move

Aston Villa striker John Carew is keen to remain at the club for up to four years and insists his nomadic days are behind him.

The 27-year-old Norwegian moved to Villa Park in January from Lyon having previously spent brief spells with AS Roma and Besiktas.

However, after scoring twice in six games for Martin O'Neill's side, Carew sees his long-term future at Villa.

He said: "I would definitely like to stay at Aston Villa for a while. This is definitely not a one-year thing for me with this club.

"I would like to be here for maybe three or four years and be part of what is really happening at Villa. I still have big ambitions and this is a new, interesting team.

"Next season is going to be big for us and I understand that new players will be brought here and that we will be going for Europe.

"I also like the English way of life. There is a good ambience in this country and the people are nice."
