Bradford City secure deal for former England Under 21 midfielder Lee Hendrie

Bradford City have completed a short-term deal for former England Under 21 international Lee Hendrie. The experienced midfielder has been without a club following his release from Derby County at the end of last season but claims to have maintained his fitness levels with a series of arranged matches between family and friends. Hendrie, 33, played under current Bantams boss Peter Taylor during his time as a youth international and is hopeful that rekindling the relationship will restart his faltering career. City slicker: Lee Hendrie has agreed a short-term deal with Bradford City He will wear the No 11 shirt at the Coral Windows Stadium and could his make his debut against Gillingham on Saturday. Hendrie started his career with Aston Villa in 1995, and during a 12-year spell was named the club's Young Player of the Year and also won the Intertoto Cup in 2001.
