Birmingham seal Gardner signing

Birmingham have signed midfielder Craig Gardner from Aston Villa for £3m, on a four-and-a-half year contract.The 23-year-old, who came through the youth ranks at Villa, has only made three appearances this season, one of which was in the Premier League. Gardner is ineligible for Birmingham's trip to Chelsea on Wednesday as the deal was not finalised in time.
