Aston Villa's John Carew not joining Fenerbahce, says agent

Martin O'Neill, the Villa manager, has ruled out the possibility of the striker leaving in the approaching transfer window, while Carew's own agent has dismissed the speculation. The Norwegian had been linked with a ¬£5 million move to the Turkish club, but his representative, Per A Flod, said that speculation was pre-emptive. ¬†Related ArticlesCarew 'in advanced talks with Fenerbahce'James Milner states England caseDowning pain game ends with goal for VillaAston Villa eye move for PennantDowning was worth the wait, says O'NeillSport on television"Something will happen during the summer of 2010, either an extension or a transfer,' he said. 'John might also play out his contract, but I don't think Aston Villa are interested in that. It's no news that Fenerbahce wants John, that has been known for three years now.' Carew has been known in the past to suffer from wanderlust — he has had seven senior clubs in his career — but he has always stressed his happiness at Villa Park. And crucially, O'Neill has favoured him over Emile Heskey in the majority of matches this season.
