Former Celtic winger Didier Agathe has agreed to sign a short-term contract with Aston Villa where he will be reunited with ex-Bhoys boss Martin O'Neill.
The 31-year-old Frenchman has impressed O'Neill in training during the last few weeks and has agreed a deal that will keep him at Villa Park until January.
O'Neill has not ruled out the prospect of Agathe earning a longer contract, telling the club's official website: "He's not just here to make up the numbers.
"He's here because I think he has the talent and the hunger to get into our side and do a good job for us.
"He played brilliantly for a number of years at Celtic, but for whatever reason found himself out of favour. That happens sometimes, but Didier still feels he has plenty to offer.
"He has the determination to succeed and still feels he can play at the very highest level. If he can get into the side, he'll be given every chance."
Agathe made 180 appearances for Celtic during a five-year spell with the club following his £50,000 switch from Hibernian in September 2000.
