Wolves keen on Harewood loan

Aston Villa striker Marlon Harewood could be set to join Wolves on loan for the remainder of the season.[LNB] Molineux boss Mick McCarthy has been in touch with Villa counterpart Martin O'Neill over the possibility of bringing in the striker to bolster the Championship leaders' promotion push.[LNB]Harewood is well down the pecking order under O'Neill and has seen his chances limited this season with Gabriel Agbonlahor, Emile Heskey, John Carew and Nathan Delfouneso all ahead of him in the reckoning.[LNB]The former West Ham striker has made just six starts this season with his only goal coming against Litex Lovech in the Uefa Cup back in October.[LNB]O'Neill is still considering the proposal from Wolves and will not make any decision until after Sunday's Premier League clash with Liverpool at Anfield.[LNB]PossibilityO'Neill said: "Wolves have asked about Marlon on loan and they are one of a number of teams. I have spoken to Marlon about it and it is a possibility.[LNB]"We now just have the league to worry about and I can recall him after 28 days. I think it might be beneficial for the likes of Marlon to go out on loan.[LNB]"I hope the international break coming up doesn't afford a load of injuries but, in the long term, if Marlon goes and plays four or five matches and is then recalled here, he will be in good physical condition.[LNB]"I think the benefits outweigh the possible downside of it.[LNB]"He came and asked me about it. Mick McCarthy phoned me about it and Marlon had the choice and we will see. It hasn't gone through yet and I am waiting until after Sunday's game. He will be travelling with us to Liverpool."[LNB]
