Wolves 1 Aston Villa 1: Dunne fears a mental problem against weaker teams

Richard Dunne fears that Aston Villa have a psychological problem against weaker sides.[LNB]Villa have beaten Chelsea and Liverpool this season, but crashed to defeats against Wigan and Blackburn and were lucky not to lose to Wolves.[LNB]To erase bad memories of blowing a Champions League spot last season, Martin O'Neill's men need to fix the problem quickly. In the next six weeks they face bottom-half teams such as West Ham, Bolton, Burnley and Hull.[LNB]When they face higher-quality opponents who play a more expansive game, Villa's dangerous attackers have the scope to thrive. Against solid, pragmatic opposition such as Wolves they look short of ideas.[LNB] Dunne and dusted: Defender heads home against Chelsea nine days ago[LNB]Centre back Dunne, who scored in the win over Chelsea nine days ago, said: 'There is a massive difference between the performances.[LNB]'For whatever reason, we're not putting in the same amount of effort, maybe. We need to improve because we are going to come across teams that we are not able to beat. [LNB]'Probably against Manchester United or Chelsea, on their day, we are going to struggle so we have to make sure that every game we play is a big game for us.' [LNB] Lost points: Ebanks-Blake's penalty pegs Villa back[LNB]Villa captain Stiliyan Petrov was just happy to escape Molineux with a point.[LNB]'They were quicker than us at times,' he admitted[LNB]Dunne was the culprit early on as Villa were lucky not to concede a penalty. He tugged and fouled his Ireland team-mate Kevin Doyle, but was not penalised by referee Peter Walton. [LNB]'I think it was continuous fouling,' complained Doyle. 'I was trying to stay on my feet as much as possible, be honest and try to get a goal.' [LNB]Penalised: Doyle felt he should have had a penalty when he tangled with Dunne early on[LNB]Dunne argued, with a smile on his face: 'I don't think it was a penalty, it was just a bit of wrestling. I didn't touch him.'[LNB]Wolves were regretting that decision even more in the 79th minute. James Milner found Emile Heskey on the edge of the penalty area and the England striker cut the ball across to Gabriel Agbonlahor, who finished from 10 yards.[LNB]The home side earned a point four minutes after Agbonlahor's goal. Steve Sidwell fouled Michael Kightly, leading to a penalty that was smashed in by Sylvan Ebanks-Blake. [LNB]Doyle added: 'Probably, the ref went in at halftime and found out that he should have given a penalty to me at the start. So, when we did look like we should have been given a penalty, in the second half, he gave it straight away.'[LNB]Ebanks-Blake was relieved to open his account for the season, adding: 'It's about time we got a penalty no better time than a derby at home.'[LNB] Wolves 1 Aston Villa 1: Ebanks-Blake smashes in leveller to deny VillaEverton boss Moyes runs the rule over Middlesbrough's wanted man JohnsonGARY LINEKER: Gareth Barry is who Rafa Benitez needs now more than everDiving is a disgrace but I wouldn't kill my players for cheating, says CapelloASTON VILLA FC
