Aston Villa midfielder James Milner has recovered from a foot injury and will return for the Barclays Premier League clash away to Wigan.

Milner missed the 3-1 home win over Blackburn in the FA Cup but would have been fit had Tuesday's postponed Carling Cup semi-final, first leg meeting between the clubs gone ahead at Ewood Park.

Villa will be looking to avenge a 2-0 home defeat at the hands of the Latics on the opening day of the season.
