Kevin MacDonald will check on the fitness of Gabriel Agbonlahor and John Carew before Sunday's Premier League clash with Everton at Villa Park.[LNB] Agbonlahor suffered what was described as "tight calves" during the Europa League exit at the hands of Rapid Vienna last night and was substituted in the hope of avoiding a lengthy lay-off.[LNB]MacDonald said: "Gabby's calves were very tight and so we felt it was best to take him off earlier rather than later in case it tended to go into a calf strain which might put him out for a few weeks.[LNB]"We are hopeful it might only be a little bit of tightness at the moment but we will not be able to tell until later on Friday.[LNB]"He is a major player for this club and we need to get him fit and keep him fit for as long as possible."[LNB]Carew's fitness will also be assessed after he missed the 3-2 reversal with an ongoing knee problem along with defender Richard Dunne (back), but left-back Stephen Warnock and midfielder Stewart Downing will come back into the equation after being rested.[LNB]Kick-off on Sunday is at 4pm.[LNB]Villa (from): Friedel, Cuellar, L Young, Beye, Dunne, Collins, Davies, Clark, Warnock, Ireland, Downing, Petrov, Reo-Coker, Ashley Young, Albrighton, Carew, Agbonlahor, Heskey, Delfouneso, Lichaj, Bannan.
