The England striker suffered a groin injury during the 1-0 home win over Stoke yesterday and had to be substituted midway through the first half.[LNB]Heskey has started to show his best form in recent weeks and had scored three goals in the previous six games prior to the meeting with Tony Pulis's side.[LNB]He will have a scan on Monday to determine the extent of the problem.[LNB]Villa boss Martin O'Neill confirmed: "It is Emile's groin that is the problem although he was feeling a bit better after the game compared to when he came off.[LNB]"The doctor has had a look at it and he will have a scan tomorrow to see what has happened. We are hoping for the best but I won't really know until then."[LNB]Heskey has made a slow start to his Villa career after a series of niggling injuries following his £3.5million switch from Wigan during the January transfer window.[LNB]But he has shown his quality in recent games and O'Neill will hope he is fit for the two games in 48 hours that will have a big impact on whether Villa can sustain their push for a Champions League spot.[LNB]They will take on Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on December 27 before playing host to Liverpool two days later.[LNB][LNB]
