Martin O'Neill is on the lookout for midfield reinforcements after the departure of Gareth Barry to Manchester City and the imposing Borowski is the latest name to be linked with the Midlands club. Other names that have been mentioned include Tom Huddlestone, Steven Defour, Jermaine Jenas, David Bentley, Fabian Delph and Michael Johnson. But O'Neill is believed to be prepared to offer around £5million for the 29-year-old Borowksi, who started his career at Werder Bremen. And the Bundesliga outfit will not stand in his way if he decides to chase a fresh challenge after winning the league championship and the DFB-Pokal in Germany. The German giants are also desperate to raise the cash so they can make a move for Chelsea full-back Jose Bosingwa. Other names that have been linked with a move to O'Neill's side include Tom Huddlestone, Steven Defour, Jermaine Jenas, David Bentley, Fabian Delph and Michael Johnson.
