Aston Villa are back in for Tottenham midfielder Jermaine Jenas. The England international is set to leave White Hart Lane as boss Harry Redknapp attempts to cull his squad. Jenas, 26, is also wanted at Inter Milan by Jose Mourinho but Villa are ready to offer £10million to prise him away, according to The Sun. Martin O'Neill is still looking to boost his midfield after the loss of skipper Gareth Barry earlier this summer. Villa splashed out £12m on Middlesbrough winger Stewart Downing last week but are also confident of wrapping up a deal for Jenas. In a twist to the deal, Redknapp wants to sign Villa star Ashley Young but O'Neill will refuse to sell up. Downing has revealed that he was told by O'Neill that there will be no more big-name departures from Villa Park. 'The first thing I asked the manager was "Are these players staying? Because I'd like to play with them",' he said. 'His response was that the likes of Ashley Young will not be leaving because he is trying to build a squad.'
