Aston Villa have made an enquiry about the availability of Inter Milan midfielder Philippe Coutinho, his agent has claimed.
The 20-year-old Brazilian spent part of last season on loan at Espanyol but has made only three Serie A appearances since returning to Milan.
Coutinho's agent, Cacau Barbosa, told the Wolverhampton Express and Star: "I can confirm Aston Villa made an enquiry. They want him, but with all due respect for the proposal made to Philippe, at this moment there is still nothing concrete to suggest an exit from Inter."
Reports in Italy claim Villa would like to initially sign Coutinho on loan with a view to a possible permanent move this summer.
