Villa have done well but they will not finish in the top four, says Redknapp

Harry Redknapp has never been afraid of upsetting Aston Villa[LNB], which is just as well given that he believes Martin O'Neill's side will miss out on a Champions League place. Tottenham[LNB]boss Redknapp had coins and insults hurled at him at Villa Park when he was in charge of Portsmouth and returned the name calling when his team took a point there earlier in the season.  Tomorrow he returns with a different side, but with the same honesty that promises to ensure his welcome will again be hostile. Redknapp said: 'I think Villa will just miss out on the top four. They've done very, very well and they're a good side, but Arsenal have got players coming back now, key players like Walcott and Fabregas who will make the difference and I think Arsenal will just about edge it. I'd love to see Villa do it. 'It would be good for everybody if someone could break into the topfour. Everton have done fantastically well, too. Hopefully either theyor Villa can make it, but if you asked me to put my life on it, I'd gowith the big four.' [LNB]Overseas star: John Carew[LNB]Redknapp is full of admiration for O'Neill, but he is not falling forthe line that O'Neill has only sought out the top young English talentwith which to supplement his squad even though he signed Ashley Youngfrom Watford. He added: 'You can get carried away with saying that. Martin has signedgood players. Petrov, Cuellar, Friedel, Carew, none are English.Neither is Laursen, the centre half who's been the backbone of theteam, while Gareth Barry was there already, so was Agbonlahor. 'You can't go out to sign young players just because they're English. But the man is a good manager. He knows his job. He's done a fantasticjob there, as he has wherever he's been.' While Redknapp casts an envious eye at Villa's League position offourth, he is preoccupied with ensuring that Spurs, who are 12th, stayup. 'We have 10 games left and we're in good form. Teams below West Ham arelooking over their shoulders. Every year someone goes on a run andpulls out of it. Fulham did it last year, but Reading sank into it. I'dlike to think that next year we can be where Villa are now.'[LNB] ASTON VILLA v Tottenham: O'Neill hands Bouma place in squad against visiting Spurs[LNB]Fearless Spurs boss Redknapp ready for his controversial return to Villa Park[LNB]O'Neill says Redknapp should not fear his Spurs return to face Villa 'filth'[LNB]ASTON VILLA FC NEWS FROM ACROSS THE NET[LNB][LNB] [LNB]
