Aston Villa continued their pre-season programme with a 3-2 victory over League One Peterborough at London Road on Monday night.[LNB] Ashley Young opened the scoring for Villa with a brilliant chip over keeper Joe Lewis before Aaron Davies equalised for the hosts. [LNB]Brad Friedel was forced into several first-class saves as the home side pushed forward, but John Carew fired Villa ahead just before the break with a neat flick past Lewis. And Eric Lichaj powered a header home from a corner to make it 3-1 to Villa. But Posh reduced the arrears when Charlie Lee turned smartly and watched his shot deflect in to make it 3-2. [LNB]Peterborough pushed hard for the equaliser and Craig Makail-Smith and Gerorge Boyd both went close late on, but Villa, who fielded a strong line-up, hung on and now head to Ireland to continue their build-up.
