Villa forced into changes

Aston Villa have been forced to postpone their first away match of the new Premier League season because of their European commitments. Martin O'Neill's side had been scheduled to visit Upton Park to face West Ham United on August 18 - but that will now have to be changed. They are due to be involved in a Europa League play-off first leg that week on either August 19 or 20. Villa, who begin the campaign with a home game against Wigan on August 15, will have their first away league match instead at Liverpool on Saturday, August 22. But that could be put back 24 hours if Villa have to play in Europe on August 20 rather than 24 hours earlier.
