Villa eye Tuncay move

Aston Villa are weighing up an approach for Middlesbrough forward Tuncay Sanli, skysports.com understands. The Turkey international is attracting plenty of interest following Middlesbrough's relegation and it is thought his future lies away from the Riverside. Tuncay was Boro's outstanding performer in what was a miserable campaign last term, with the club's supporters having warmed to the skilful schemer. Martin O'Neill is known to be in the market for a playmaker and could turn to Tuncay having been impressed with how he has adapted to English football since joining Boro in 2007. Tuncay joined the North East club from Fenerbahce and has gone on to make 67 appearances, scoring 15 goals. With the 2010 World Cup on the horizon it seems likely Tuncay - who captains Turkey - will want to be playing top flight football next season. Liverpool have previously been credited with an interest but skysports.com has learnt it is Villa that are closest to making an official approach.
