Fernando Torres is ready to help Liverpool in Sunday's showdown against fourth-placed rivals Manchester City.

Reports in Spain suggest Liverpool's £21million record signing will be on the bench for the crucial Eastlands showdown after making a swift recovery from a knee injury.

Rafa Benitez will resist starting with Torres, amid fears of aggravating his injuryin a match that could have a considerable bearing on who finishesfourth in the Barclays Premier League and claims the final place innext season's Champions' League.
