Thomas Hitzlsperger signs for Wolfsburg

Wolfsburg have confirmed the signing of former West Ham midfielder Thomas Hitzlsperger.[LNB]The 29-year-old Germany international has signed a three-year contract with the Bundesliga club.[LNB] Hitzlsperger was a free agent after leaving the Hammers following their relegation from the Premier League at the end of last season.[LNB]'Thomas is a player who will help us with his professional approach and his international experience,' Wolfsburg coach Felix Magath said.[LNB] Back home: Thomas Hitzlsperger has joined Wolfsburg[LNB]'I am pleased that he is now with us, because he is a player who can lead the team.'[LNB]Hitzlsperger, renowned for his ferocious left foot, made his name at Aston Villa before a successful spell at Stuttgart and less auspicious one at Lazio.[LNB]He had been linked with a host of Premier League clubs.[LNB] Famous left foot: Hitzlsperger is known for his powerful strike[LNB]The midfielder said: 'I am overjoyed that the transfer has gone through.
