Stewart Downing in court over £500k fraud row with former agent

Aston Villa winger Stewart Downing has claimed in court that a former agent defrauded him of more than ?500,000. [LNB]The England star, 26, was a prosecution witness in York Crown Court on Monday as 53-year-old Ian Elliott - Downing's agent when he signed his first contract at Middlesbrough worth ?11,000 a week - denied four counts of fraud. [LNB]Downing, who was introduced to Elliott by Chris Waddle, said: 'I relied on him to do most things on the business side. I then discovered a lot of money missing.'
