Stanley Milton, Halifax Jan 6, 1934As a goalkeeper, a clean sheet on your debut is what you look for. Poor Stanley Milton had no such luck. His Halifax Town debut at Stockport was looking like an introduction to forget when they were 2-0 down at half-time. Unfortunately, it would turn out to be a first game no-one would forget, as Milton conceded a further 11 goals in the second half. Halifax lost 13-0 the worst league defeat in history. [LNB]Glenn Keeley, Everton Nov 6, 1982Blackburn defender Keeley (right) joined Everton on loan and had his debut in the Merseyside derby at Goodison Park. He was sent off after half an hour for pulling back Kenny Dalglish and Everton were thumped 5-0. Keeley never appeared for them again, playing just 56 more matches for four other English clubs. [LNB]Jaap Stam, Man Utd Aug 9, 1998 The Holland centre back was signed for ?10.5million from PSV towrestle the Premier League title back from Arsenal it worked, but notfrom the outset. Stammade his debut in the Charity Shield at Wembley against Arsene Wenger'steam, but was lambasted afterwards for the way he let Nicolas Anelkaglide past him for the last of Arsenal's three goals. Luckily for Stam,it would get a lot better at Old Trafford.[LNB] No chance: The quicksilver Anelka (centre) beats Stam (left) and Peter Schmeichel [LNB]Rio Ferdinand , Leeds Dec 2, 2000 After his ?18million switch from West Ham to Leeds, much was expected of Ferdinand. Yet after 29 minutes at Filbert Street against Leicester, the future Englandcaptain was in the middle of a nightmare. Leeds were 3-0 down and, although they pulled a goal back, it was a day to forget for Ferdinand. [LNB] What have I done? Ferdinand is foxed on his Leeds debut[LNB]Jonathan Woodgate, Real Madrid Sep 22, 2005Injuries kept the ?13million signing from Newcastle out for 14 months after he joined them and his debut at home against Athletic Bilbao was pretty special. He scored a spectacular diving header own goal after 24 minutes and was then sent off for a second bookable offence in the 66th minute. Still, at least Real won 3-1. He was  voted the worst signing of the century in Spanish newspaper Marca. [LNB] Cheerio: David Beckham (left) looks bemused as Jonathan Woodgate departs the Bernabeu pitch[LNB]Curtis Davies, Aston Villa Sep 27, 2007 What's the best way of sealing a permanent deal when you have joined on loan? Best not ask Curtis Davies. Having joined Aston Villa from West Bromwich, the centre back had what he called a 'just awful' display from start to finish as his new side lost 1-0 at home to Leicester. Davies added: 'I didn't contribute anything. I've been bigging myself up, saying I'm ready and obviously I'm not. I looked like a pub-team player.'[LNB] So, how CAN Carlo Ancelotti make Fernando Torres fit in at Chelsea?Inside the King Kenny's court: How Dalglish put the fighting spirit back into LiverpoolMartin Keown: How Kenny Dalglish allows Jamie Carragher to come to the fore in Liverpool's back three[LNB]  Explore more:People: Jonathan Woodgate, Rio Ferdinand, Kenny Dalglish Places: Newcastle, Leeds, The Netherlands, United Kingdom
