The 34-year-old is fully fit after coming on as a substitute against QPR at the weekend and is hungry to claim the scalp of his former employers in the third-round clash.
"It is a very good draw for us and a great opportunity for the lads to pit their wits against one of the Premiership big boys," Scimeca told the Cardiff Echo.
"There's a chance of us taking a very good scalp there and it is a fantastic ground to play at. There will be a good atmosphere there and it should be a good night.
"I would like to get out there. I've got some great memories of playing at Villa. It would obviously be fantastic to be involved against my former club."
