Kop call: Liverpool want Young[LNB]Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson has tabled a £2.75million bid for Aston Villa right back Luke Young. [LNB]Hodgson is looking to ease Liverpool's full-back crisis, with Philipp Degenjoining Emiliano Insua and Fabio Aurelio in leaving Anfield.[LNB]Former England defender Young would welcome a move to Anfield after being kept out of Villa's first team by Carlos Cuellar last season. [LNB]Young played left back for one season at Villa and his versatility will be of huge benefit.[LNB] Villa boss Martin O'Neill told the club website: 'There has been an offer from a football club which Luke is mulling over and, if it doesn't materialise, then he would join us (in Portugal for the Guadiana Cup) because he needs to play some football soon. We will see how that develops.' [LNB]The 31-year-old was a key performer during his first campaign at Villa after making a £5m switch from Middlesbrough during the summer of 2008. [LNB]But he suffered early injury problems last season, then was given compassionate leave after the death of his brother, and saw Cuellar cement his position at right-back. [LNB]Fellow defender James Collins will have a scan today (Wednesday) to determine the extent of the calf injury suffered during Tuesday night's friendly with Walsall. [LNB]The Wales international was substituted after only three minutes of Villa's 2-1 success.  [LNB] Roy Torres joy!
