Thanks for following.[LNB]17.00: And a great start for Villa this season who were impressive in their dismantling of Blackburn...I fear for Rovers.[LNB]Even when they hit one back they failed to pressure the hosts. As for the defending, Kean needs to get back down to the basics in training on Monday morning.[LNB]16.59: A share of the spoils at the Liberty Stadium. Don't think either side will be happy with that - especially Wigan with that saved penalty.[LNB]16.57: Incredible result for QPR who have pulled one out of the bag in defeating Everton at Goodison Park.[LNB]They rode their luck but defended brilliantly and showed massive improvements from last week.[LNB]16.55: Full-time: Everton 0-1 QPR[LNB]16.53: Full-time: Swansea 0-0 Wigan[LNB]16.51: Full-time: Aston Villa 3-1 Blackburn[LNB]16.48: We are entering injury time, five minutes at Everton, but no chances are appearing on the horizon at any of the Premier League games.[LNB]16.45: Everton's Barkley again going close from distance but Kenny is more than equal to it.[LNB]A friend was dead certain in telling me not to bet on a QPR win today when I mentioned attractive prices at 5/1. I'm quite a bit miffed at the moment to be fair after taking on his 'valuable information.'[LNB] Spot kick Hero: Vorm kept out Watson's penalty[LNB]16.42: The little things add up over a season and I just wonder how crucial that penalty miss can prove come May in terms of top flight safety and the points that would separate these two clubs.[LNB]Wigan at least have shown some attacking intent in what has been quite a lively second period.[LNB]16.39: Barry Bannan has replaced Heskey for Villa and he has already linked up well with Charles N'Zogbia as Villa start the 'ole' football. Rovers look dead and buried.[LNB]16.36: Saha is on for John Heitinga as Barkley fizzes an effort wide from 25-yards-out.[LNB]16.35: MiaBRFC on twitter:[LNB]6 words for you pal. 'you get back under your pillow!!!![LNB]16.34: And that is just the tip of the iceberg. Before that Wigan nearly hit that sucker punch I was referring to earlier when Di Santo set up Jordi Gomez to hit a cracking effort on the bounce off the post.[LNB]16.33: He scored last week but not this week. Ben Watson sees his penalty saved by Michel Vorm who is already starting to become a favourite with the home fans since his summer arrival.[LNB]16.32: PENALTY (Wigan)[LNB]16.31: Marouane Fellaini has already replaced Beckford and Louis Saha is getting ready to come on for Everton. And still I wait for an onslaught.[LNB]16.29: Barkley is doing something right for Everton, winning a free-kick in another dangerous position...only for Arteta to crash his effort into the wall.[LNB] Response: Bent restored Villa's two goal lead[LNB]16.26: GOAL! ASTON VILLA 3-1 Blackburn[LNB]That's all in the past now though as Darren Bent rifles in his first goal of the campaign from inside the box. Back under your pillows Rovers fans.[LNB]16.23: Villa haven't showed much sign of shutting up shop and in fact nearly regain their two goal lead, with Albrighton's shot flying just wide with Robinson rooted to the spot.[LNB]16.20: The longer this goes on you can just see Wigan hitting a sucker punch. Swansea have created a couple of chances this half but just can't get a decent effort on goal.[LNB]16.17: Everton too making changes with Mikel Arteta on for Rodwell. No signs of any Toffees onslaught just yet.[LNB]16.14: Problems for QPR as Patrick Agyemang has gone off injured to be replaced by Jay Bothroyd.[LNB] Heads up: Pedersen's (second left) header halved the deficit for Blackburn[LNB]16.11: GOAL! Aston Villa 2-1 BLACKBURN[LNB]Those Rovers fans who took my advice at half-time may come back to a surprise when they re-emerge as their side are back in it.[LNB]Hoilett has been by far and away Blackburn's best player and after fantastic work on the wing delivers a brilliant cross that is headed home by Morten Gamst Pedersen. His first goal since November, which also came against Villa.[LNB]16.08: Wigan did make a change before the break though with Ronnie Stam on for Antolin Alcaraz. Nothing of note at the start of the second half.[LNB]16.06: One half-time sub and of all teams it's come from Villa. Agbonlahor coming off after picking up a slight knock, Marc Albrighton replaces him.[LNB]16.05: Straight away Everton have a chance with Rodwell forcing a decent save from Paddy Kenny.[LNB]16.03: Second halves are getting underway.[LNB] Fiery support: Two Swansea fans attended the game dressed up as Welsh dragons[LNB]16.00: And finally at Villa Park it sure is a tale of two sides.[LNB]Villa are flying under their new boss, with Agbonlahor, Bent and Heskey linking up well in attack.[LNB]Rovers fans - my advice to you is hide under a pillow, you're in for a long afternoon.[LNB]15.57: Better news for the promoted sides comes at Goodison Park where QPR somehow lead.[LNB]I can't see it lasting though, Everton surely can't be that wasteful again. Credit to QPR though, they have been efficient with their chances if anything.[LNB]15.54: I worry about Wigan, they showed nothing that half and in their first one-and-a-half-games against the promoted sides they have hardly stamped their authority.[LNB]They have to up their games, especially when the big boys come to town.[LNB]As for Swansea, promising signs but likewise need to find some more creativity.[LNB]15.52: And full times from earlier. Liverpool defeated 10-man Arsenal 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium, while Newcastle won the Tyne-Wear derby 1-0 at the Stadium of Light.[LNB]15.48: Half-time: Swansea 0-0 Wigan[LNB]15.47: Half-time: Aston Villa 2-0 Blackburn[LNB]15.46: Half-time: Everton 0-1 QPR[LNB] Sneaking through: Swansea's Scott Sinclair (centre) evades the challenge of two Wigan players[LNB]15.45: Just how are Everton behind? Two great chances pass within minutes with Cahill (again) and Beckford wasting two headers.[LNB]15.42: From OptaJoe:[LNB]8 - Emile Heskey has now scored more Premier League goals against Blackburn Rovers than any other club. Prolific.[LNB]15.39: What is going on at Everton? Tim Cahill misses a sitter of a header from three yards out and you would back him in the air every day of the week.[LNB]A deeper look at the facts though show the Australian hasn't scored in the Premier League this year.[LNB]15.36: I worry for Blackburn, they look scared all over the pitch and there are plenty of chins on chests out there.[LNB]Steve Kean has to rally his troops somehow because Villa are toying with them here.[LNB] The future's bright...Smith scores QPR's first Premier League goal for 15 years[LNB]15.33: Swansea remain on top against the Latics who can not offer Franco Di Santo any servcie in attack. Brendan Rodgers will be disappointed if his side go into the break still level but Ali Al Habsi has not had too much to do in the visitors goal.[LNB]15.30: GOAL! Everton 0-1 QPR[LNB]This is completely against the run of play. It's the visitors first chance but my word Tommy Smith does well to take it, curling a beauty past Tim Howard from the edge of the box.[LNB] Opportunistic: Heskey (left) squeezes home Villa's second goal[LNB]15.26: GOAL! ASTON VILLA 2-0 Blackburn[LNB]Who said McLeish plays boring football? Agbonlahor shakes off Michel Salgado on the wing before laying the ball across the 18-yard-box where Emile Heskey hits a tidy finish past Paul Robinson. Is the big man back or are Rovers just THAT bad in defence?[LNB]15.23: That free-kick came from a smart Ross Barkley run too, who hasn't featured too much so far.[LNB]15.22: QPR really have to wise up. They commit the cardinal sin by giving away a free-kick 20 yards out at Everton, and Baines doesn't need too much encouragement to stand over this one.[LNB]He goes damn close too, hitting the underside of the bar with a terrific strike. A big let off for Neil Warnock's side.[LNB] Bright start: Gabriel Agbonlahor made a lively start for Villa, scoring the opening goal[LNB] [LNB]15.19: Credit to Rovers, they haven't folded. Good work from Junior Hoilett sees him send a dangerous cross in and although it evades Morten Gamst Pederson, the ball falls for Goodwillie who blazes over the bar.[LNB]15.16: I have done Agbonlahor some injustice there. It was a fabulous strike as he curled it into the top corner.[LNB]15.15: A matter of inches prevents Everton from going in front. Leighton Baines' low cross just evading the attacking Beckford. Good game this.[LNB]15.13: GOAL! ASTON VILLA 1-0 Blackburn[LNB]Nelsen is back but Rovers' woes continue. Villa recovered from their slow start and Gabriel Agbonlahor has capitalised on some poor defending from the visitors, firing his 50th Premier League goal for Villa - only Dwight Yorke has more for the club.[LNB]15.12: Still ALL Swansea at the Liberty Stadium. Wigan look completely lost![LNB] Tough in the tackle: Everton's Phil Jagielka (left) attempts to win the ball off of QPR's Adel Tarrabt[LNB]15.10: Connolly is sure a busy chap this afternoon. Moments later he bundles over Jack Rodwell in the box with a  clumsy lunge.[LNB]Nothing is given though and that is a surprise with Kevin Friend taking charge of that game. He has given four penalties in his last six matches.[LNB]15.08: Decent chance from QPR. Matt Connolly whips in a cross and Tommy Smith hits a left-foot half-volley that just misses the target.[LNB]15.06: Speaking of half decent receptions, Alex McLeish received a  warm welcome form the Villa fans but it's Blackburn making the better start. The hosts can't get out of their own half.[LNB]15.04: Martinez not given too much abuse on his return to Swansea (Not as much as I was expecting anyway) and the hosts have made a bright start, with Wayne Routledge looking particularly lively. [LNB]15.01: Teams kicking off.[LNB]14.57: Teams are out at all three games. Your typical British summer weather with overcast skies all round.[LNB]14.53: So who are the teams I'm tipping for the drop? After their respective 4-0 hammerings last week, QPR and Swansea haven't really changed my opinion.[LNB]Wigan I don't think have strengthened enough while Blackburn too looked very weak in their defeat at home to Wolves last week.[LNB]That's the same Wolves who had one of the country's worst away records last season.[LNB]14.50: Swansea manager Brendan Rodgers makes two changes from his side's defeat at Manchester City ahead of the first Premier League game played outside England at the Liberty Stadium.[LNB]Alan Tate drops to the bench with left-back Neil Taylor available again following suspension, while Wayne Routledge makes his full debut in place of Stephen Dobbie.[LNB]Antolin Alcaraz is the only change for Wigan, the Paraguayan coming in for Adrian Lopez, as manager Roberto Martinez returns to his former club.[LNB] Chance to impress: Franco Di Santo (right) retains his Wigan place in attack[LNB]14.47: The likes of Louis Saha, Mikel Arteta and Marouane Fellaini are all named among the substitutes for Everton in the rest of the Merseyside club's team news.[LNB]QPR make four changes from the side which lost 4-0 to Bolton last week, with Bradley Orr, Akos Buzsaky, Matthew Connolly and Patrick Agyemang all coming into the side with forward Jay Bothroyd dropped to the bench because of illness.[LNB]14.45: Alex McLeish names an unchanged side for his first home match in charge of Aston Villa, with goalkeeper Shay Given passed fit to face former club Blackburn after recovering from off a groin strain.[LNB]After a 2-1 home defeat to Wolves to start the season, Rovers boss Steve Kean makes two changes, the most important seeing captain Ryan Nelsen return to the heart of the defence after missing the opener last Saturday with a knee injury.[LNB]Nelsen replaces Brett Emerton, sidelined with a hamstring problem, whilst striker David Goodwillie is handed his first start after a summer move from Dundee United, with Mauro Formica benched.[LNB]Another new capture in midfielder Radosav Petrovic, signed from Partizan Belgrade, is also named amongst the substitutes.[LNB]14.42: It's all over at the Emirates Stadium where Liverpool have defeated Arsenal 2-0, with the Gunners having Emmanuel Frimpong sent off.[LNB]14.39: The big news from that lot is Everton's Ross Barkley is set to make his football debut at the tender age of 17-years-old.[LNB]David Moyes has been restricted with his transfer budget but that doesn't mean he has been forced into picking youth - this kid promises to be the real deal.[LNB]14.36: As ever, Andy Townsend gives us his preview on the weekend games with his boot room which you can read by clicking here.[LNB] Ready to go: Goodwillie starts for Blackburn[LNB]14.33: And our final 3pm kick-off at Villa Park. We are looking thin in numbers as far as games go, so let's hope quality doesn't run parallel with quantity.[LNB]Aston Villa v BlackburnAston Villa: Given, Young, Dunne, Collins, Warnock, N'Zogbia, Delph, Petrov, Agbonlahor, Bent, Heskey. Subs: Guzan, Ireland, Albrighton, Delfouneso, Makoun, Clark, Bannan.[LNB]Blackburn: Robinson, Salgado, Nelsen, Hanley, Olsson, Hoilett, Dunn, Nzonzi, Pedersen, Goodwillie, Roberts. Subs: Bunn, Formica, Petrovic, Rochina, Blackman, Ribeiro, Lowe.[LNB]Referee: Stuart Attwell (Warwickshire)[LNB]14.30: And from Swansea's first top flight match at the Liberty Stadium:[LNB]Swansea v WiganSwansea: Vorm, Rangel, Caulker, Williams, Taylor, Agustien, Britton, Routledge, Dyer, Sinclair, Graham. Subs: Moreira, Tate, Dobbie, Lita, Moore, Allen, Gower.[LNB]Wigan: Al Habsi, Boyce, Caldwell, Alcaraz, Figueroa, Diame, Watson, Gomez, McCarthy, Moses, Di Santo. Subs: Pollitt, Thomas, McArthur, Sammon, Jones, Rodallega, Stam.[LNB]Referee: Phil Dowd (Staffordshire)[LNB]14.27: Team news from Goodison Park:[LNB]Everton v QPREverton: Howard, Neville, Jagielka, Distin, Baines, Barkley, Heitinga, Rodwell, Osman, Cahill, Beckford. Subs: Mucha, Hibbert, Saha, Arteta, Fellaini, Vellios, Anichebe.[LNB]QPR: Kenny, Orr, Hall, Gabbidon, Connolly, Buzsaky, Derry, Faurlin, Smith, Taarabt, Agyemang. Subs: Murphy, Bothroyd, Gorkss, Perone, Moen, Ephraim, Andrade.[LNB]Referee: Kevin Friend (Leicestershire)[LNB]14.23: We already have one result today between Sunderland and Newcastle, while elsewhere Arsenal and Liverpool are entering the last 15 minutes at the Emirates Stadium.[LNB]Find out the outcome of the Tyne-Wear derby and the latest in north London with Matt Fortune by clicking here.[LNB]14.20: I know we are only into the second game of the season (though Everton haven't even kicked a ball yet) but I look at the three Premier League games today and I think of one wordRelegation.[LNB]Yes I know it is ridiculously early to already start thinking about that, but you must at least agree that there are prime pre-season candidates for the trap door on show at 3pm.[LNB]I'll try not to be too negative for the rest of the afternoon, team news on the way.[LNB] Ready to go: Everton open their campaign after their match with Tottenham last week was called off[LNB]  All the Premier League team news ahead of the weekendThe Firing Line: Neil's nightmare!
