O'Neill sets Heskey challenge

// A bit of a hack but it works// The article snippet is wrapped onto a second line, even when #article-sub is emptyif( $("div#article-sub").children().length == 0 ) {$("div#article-sub").remove();} Martin O'Neill has urged Emile Heskey to be more selfish in front of goal as the striker looks to force his way back into the Aston Villa team.[LNB] Heskey has started just one game in the Premier League for Villa this term and there have been suggestions over the past week that he fears for his England place if he is not playing regularly.[LNB]O'Neill understands the 31-year-old's situation, but concedes he is unable to guarantee him a place in the team due to the form of John Carew and Gabriel Agbonlahor.[LNB]The Villa boss remains determined to bring the best out of Heskey, who has scored just twice in 21 appearances for the club since joining from Wigan Athletic in January.[LNB]And O'Neill has challenged Heskey to rediscover the playing style which saw the powerful front man secure an £11million move from Leicester City to Liverpool almost a decade ago.[LNB]Encouraged"Emile has to take the bull by the horns, for want of a better phrase," O'Neill told the club's official website.[LNB]"I want him to revert back to the things I know he is capable of doing, that made him a player Liverpool signed for big money.[LNB]"Things like getting the ball under control, using his strength and ability and being more selfish in front of goal.[LNB]"He was excellent at all those in the first place and he wants to get back to it. He still has those things in his game and deep down he would accept that.[LNB]"It will make him terrific for us and more potent for England. It's my responsibility to get the best out of him. I felt when we signed him I could do this, but a day passes into two days, two days into a week and you need results.[LNB]"It has to be a two-way thing. He has to be encouraged, but more importantly Emile has to believe that what I am teaching him is correct. He knows what he has to do. He knows he is capable of doing it."[LNB]
