O'Neill rules out window shopping
The Midlands outfit have enjoyed an impressive first half of the season with Saturday's 1-0 win over Stoke consolidating their position in fourth in the Premier League.[LNB]Villa's treatment room is fairly quiet and with his squad firing on all cylinders he has not held any transfer talks with owner Randy Lerner to discuss deals in the New Year.[LNB]O'Neill admits things could change quickly should key personnel pick up knocks, however, at the moment he plans on going with what he has got until the rest of the season.[LNB]The former Celtic manager has not ruled out some fringe players leaving on loan, although he would only allow one or two to depart as he does not want to weaken his options significantly.[LNB]"At this minute I wouldn't see us being active in bringing players in over January," he told the Daily Star Sunday.[LNB]"Things change - but as we speak I don't think we'll be bringing people in unless somebody has left the club.[LNB]"I know it is only round the corner, and January is a long month, but I have not had any discussions with the owner about what we might do.[LNB]"There's obviously interest in quite a number of my players, but I'd be loathe to see too many leave.[LNB]"You can't rule it out completely because it's always possible might get a couple of injuries to big players.[LNB]"But I wouldn't encourage anybody to expect anything."[LNB][LNB]
