O'Neill - No penalty complaints

Aston Villa manager Martin O'Neill had no complaints over the penalty which held his side to a draw at Wolves, and admitted his team were off-colour. Sylvan Ebanks-Blake equalised from the spot for Wolves four minutes after Gabriel Agbonlahor's 79th minute opener at Molineux on Saturday. The penalty was awarded after Steve Sidwell had chopped down Michael Kightly, and O'Neill could not question the award. "It is a penalty. The correct decision was made," he told Sky Sports 1. However, O'Neill was concerned by a below-par performance from his side after recently drawing with Manchester City and winning against Chelsea. After Agbonlahor missed a golden chance in the opening seconds of the first half against Wolves, Villa failed to threaten, much to the disappointment of their manager. "I don't think any of that (the penalty) would deflect from the fact that we played pretty poorly in the first half," he said. "Considering the performances we put in against Manchester City and Chelsea, it was a bit of a disappointment. "We improved significantly in the second half - which was not that difficult." Wolves boss Mick McCarthy believed his side should have had a penalty in the first half when Richard Dunne appeared to pull down Kevin Doyle. But O'Neill did not agree with his opposite number, saying: "It looked to be just a tussle."
