O'Neill eyes signings soon

Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill is hopeful of bringing in new recruits during the next fortnight. O'Neill is on the lookout to bolster his squad after recently losing the services of experienced duo Gareth Barry and Martin Laursen. The Villa boss, who has been linked to young Leeds midfielder Fabian Delph among others, believes he could make signings in the not too distant future. StrongerHe told the club's official website: "We are all looking forward to the season - but let's see if we can supplement and get us stronger first. "We have lost a couple of players - Gareth has gone (to Manchester City) and Martin has had to quit so there are obvious and immediate replacements that we are looking to bring in. "I am hoping we will be able to add to the squad over the next couple of weeks."
