O'Neill - Delph no gamble

Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill has hailed the 'exceptional talent' of new signing Fabian Delph. Premier League side Villa completed the capture of Delph from Leeds for an undisclosed fee earlier this week. It has been suggested the 19-year-old could struggle in England's top flight after plying much of his trade in League One. While O'Neill is expecting Delph to take time to find his feet, he feels that the midfielder will soon shine at Villa Park. "I don't think it is a gamble at all because I think he has got Premier League ability," O'Neill told Sky Sports News. "It will probably take him a few weeks to adjust. He has definitely got the ability and talent. He has got the determination and I think he will be a big success. "I think he is an exceptionally talented player and I think he has got a really great future ahead of him. "But I am not expecting miracles from him. I just expect him to settle in and it will take a wee bit of time and he will be flying." O'Neill has also spoken of Ashley Young's future, strongly stating that the gifted winger will be staying at Villa. He added: "Ashley is not going. I think the owner (Randy Lerner) made that pretty clear some time ago."
