Nottingham Forest set to extend their loan deal for Villa full-back Shorey

Nottingham Forest are in talks with Aston Villa about extending Nicky Shorey'sloan spell at the Coca-Cola Championship promotion chasers.

Shorey's stay at the City Ground is set to end on Thursday but Reds boss BillyDavies hopes to keep hold of the left-back.

'We are in conversation with Aston Villa,' confirmed Davies.

'We thank themvery much for loaning us Nicky - he has shown himself to be an exemplaryprofessional.

'We will wait and see where the conversation goes.'

Shorey, 28, has made nine appearances for Forest but will miss tonight's homegame against QPR through suspension following his red card against former clubReading 10 days ago.
